Jon Frullani has specified Gerflor Creation 70 luxury vinyl tiles throughout his practice HQ - a tricky project with not a single level floor to be had across the entire listed building

Dundee-based Jon Frullani Architect has refurbished its grade B listed office premises on Perth Road.

The building was originally a church manse and has had many other uses in the past, including the laboratories for the Dundee City Public Analyst in the 1970s. Prior to that it was an interior design showroom and, most recently, a restaurant.

The refurbishment works began in 2019 and a key consideration for the flooring specification was heavy traffic - the practice required a hardwearing and durable solution because of high footfall.

Architect and company owner Jon Frullani specified 250m2 of Creation 70 Dryback luxury vinyl tiles in a design called Deep Forest from specialist flooring company Gerflor.

'It worked with the muted interior,' he says. 'It also tied in well with the original flagstone floor at the entrance and exposed stone wall in the primary office space. There is not one level floor in the building and the flooring has coped very well.'

The LVT flooring has been used throughout the practice, including the offices, communal and break-out areas, corridors, recreation space and kitchen.

'The installation was extremely smooth and trouble-free,' says Frullani.
